Bernard, H44MS will again be active from Manakwai village, nearby Malu’u (northern Malaita island) covering the period September – December 2025, then a small break, followed by more activity from January to April 2026. Note: Bernard mentions that LP to EU is not good from his location (RI01hp).
[FEBRUARY 25] –
Bernard, H44MS reports to DX-WORLD that he has now installed a 5 element 50Mhz beam from I0JXX. It’s rotatable on a waterpipe about 7m above ground, and has a clear view over the Pacific Ocean from west via north to east, so it covers EU, AF via AS to NA, SA over the open ocean. The antenna and shack are 15m away from ocean. Bernard can run about 600w with 1.3K Expert amplifier and says this is the first time as a radio ham since 1974 he’s running the Magic band. Will call CQ around 50.313 Mhz in normal FT8 from time to time.

Bernard, DL2GAC will again be active from Manakwai village, nearby Malu’u (northern Malaita island) as H44MS starting February 15, 2025 lasting through until the end of April. Expected to QRV daily on 80-6m; SSB & FT8. Recording by DX-WORLD from March this year. QSL via H/c, LoTW.
*Bernard mentions that he’ll arrive Honiara, Solomon Islands on Feb 9th and will go for last minute shopping, renew his license, then get a ferry to Auki Malaite before travelling another 6 hours by truck over a dirt road to northern side of Malaite Island.
