We are writing to inform the amateur radio community that our planned activation of Arnala Island (AS-169) has been postponed due to heavy rains and safety concerns. The safety of our team members is our top priority, and we have made this decision to ensure their well-being.
New Plans:
We are now planning a back-to-back expedition to Gujarat (AS-176) and Arnala Island (AS-169).
The schedule for the expedition is as follows:
- November 1st: Arrive in Ahmedabad, head to Bhavnagar Shialbet (6-hour journey), reach by evening, and set up for operation.
- November 2nd-4th: Operate from Gujarat (AS-176).
- November 5th: Head to Mumbai.
- November 6th-8th: Operate from Arnala (AS-169).
- November 9th: Return home from Mumbai.
Reason for Postponement:
The unseasonal monsoon rains in Mumbai and across India, attributed to climate change, made it impossible for us to proceed with the original plan. Unfortunately, this has resulted in significant losses due to non-refundable flight tickets and logistics costs.
Update for IOTA Chasers and DXers:
We appreciate the enthusiasm and interest in our activations. We will keep the community updated on our progress and look forward to sharing more information soon.
