Tony's 10m Band Report

Not a great week, but it had its moments particularly at the weekend. Most sought after were OC200R (Peru), TZ1CE (Mali), W4RN (USA, not sure why this was so popular) and A451ND (Oman).

I’ve been fighting W11 Insider preview which seems to be slowing my logging program. I decided to work FT4, unfortunately there is no activity on Ten Metres so I was on 20m.

For those who don’t know, this is what the CWops Tests are about.

CWops Tests, or CWTs, are 60 minutes in duration and held on Wednesday and Thursday every week. As of July 1, 2021 there are four events each week, at times that favor different geographic areas. Everyone is welcome – you don’t have to be a CWops member to join the fun. CWTs are a good opportunity to meet other CW fans who may be interested in CWops membership. Six bands are used – 10, 15, 20, 40, 80 and 160m. Suggested frequencies are from 28 to 45 kHz from the band edges. However, this range should not be considered a limit when activity is such that participants find it necessary to spread further. Please be considerate of ongoing QSOs and mindful of ongoing or imminent DXpedition operations., W1AW transmissions, etc. Please slow down when called at a slower speed – we want everyone to feel welcome. Lots of Qs or just a few, please submit your results for each session at http://3830scores.com

Sun: Three sunspots with a 4th growing.

The biggest geomagnetic storm in years erupted this month when a Cannibal CME slammed into Earth's magnetic field. Auroras spread as far south as California and New Mexico. Upon closer inspection, however, not all of the lights were auroras. Some were "SARs." See spaceweather.com for more info on SARs.
