Antennas being installed on Dal Char island, AS-140. Team will start activities approx 2100z on December 12th (earlier than initially announced).
- [DECEMBER 10 @ 1400z] –
Heavy equipment for the upcoming S21DX DXpedition started its journey via the river today. The team will also start their journey later today, too. Pictures by S21YLJ. Video by S21RC. - [DECEMBER 4] –
Today the team received their official S21DX license from the regulator – see below: A reminder this IOTA DXpedition starts on December 13th. Team will use Super Fox on FT8. On December 10th, the crew will begin travels to Dal Char Island, AS-140.

Bangladesh Red Crescent Society agreed to lend the DXpedition 3 large tents for the duration of the activity. In addition, S21DX team report that an 18m mast check with accessories was completed. 17m and 12m VDA elements have been prepared too. More radials for 160m antenna also added. (Pics by S21YLJ)

A few days ago the team procured and tested a new 5KW genset. A quick reminder the S21DX IOTA AS-140 DXpedition is scheuled for 13-19 December 2024. Full details and previous (2022) DXpedition below.

In preparation for the upcoming S21DX DXpedition, team members S21MOB and S21FIA tested their K9AY receive loop and made some QSOs on 80m – the TX antenna was a 1/4 wave vetical.

S21DX team member lineup is ready for their 2024 IOTA DXpedition. Many youth operators are participating this time who will gain substantial know-how of operating, antennas and propagation. Mainly they will have the start of doing DXing and handling pileupS. YL Raka who was volunteer for the last two S21DX activations in 2021 and 2022 will join this time as an operator, her callsign is S21YLJ. - [JUNE 29, 2024] –
We are planning to activate another IOTA in this December. Our main goal this year is to focus on hands on training and capacity building for the local HAMs to understand different types of HF antenna, Propagation and Pileup handling. We hope in coming days we will see more HF station doing DXing from S2.
After checking all the islands in the two groups, considering Logistics, Transport and Cost we have decided to do the IOTA from the same island as before (Dhal Char, AS-140). The other nearby island is not suitable due to antenna orientation problem and also drinking water is not available in all of them, some are not inhabited.

Early preparations underway for the upcoming IOTA AS-140 activity. Previous updates below:

At 0300z today, the team reached Bhola island. The second part of the journey by road will take approx 3 hours so all going well they hope to arrive Dal Char island by lunchtime (local).
- [DECEMBER 7] –
S21DX team sent the heavy items (generator, masts, antennas, dry food, rice etc) this morning (December 7) towards Bhola Islands (volunteer Robiul is with the truck). Rest of the team will start the journey this evening (UTC 1200) on a public motor launch service. Tomorrow (midday local) they will unload the truck at Bhola island and reserve a fishing trawler and sail towards Dhal Char island. Unfortunately, due to unavoidable circumstances two operators (S21TG and S21IT) had to drop out of the team.

Various recent news updates can be found on the official S21DX website, but today DX-World received a copy of the S21DX license for the upcoming AS-140 DXpedition. (Copy of license has been blurred). It was issued by National Telecommunication Regulatory Authority. Team also received a nice DX-World banner A reminder this expedition is scheduled for December 10-16.
