• [NEWS] –

At 1245z today, the team (AD5A, AB5EB and K0AP) were headed to IOTA NA-120 (Marsh island). All going well they should be QRV (now active @ 1645z – see pic) as K5M in a few hours time. Mike AB5EB sends a couple of pics of Dragan, K0AP getting organised prior to leaving for the island.

"Hard to find dry land on Marsh…this is not dry land.” says Mike AB5EB

Coax at the ready

On October 4/5, Dragan was QRV from NA-168, as below:

  • [OCTOBER 2] –
Mike, AB5EB informs that the weather forecast has turned for the worse this morning along the Louisiana coast. It seems likely that they will not be able to make it to NA-119 as planned. The forecast looks better for NA-120 but will need to see how the weather situation plays out. Initial info below.
  • [JUNE 20] –

Callsigns confirmed – N5D (NA-119) & K5M (NA-120).

  • [JUNE 17] –

Dragan K0AP, Mike AD5A and Mike AB5EB plan to be active from IOTA groups NA-119 (Dernieres) & NA-120 (Marsh) during the period October 4-8, 2024. Operation from NA-120 will be daytime only due to overnight restrictions.

Mike AB5EB says final layout of the stations is not complete but will likely be a combination of verticals and possibly a Buddihex which he used at CB0ZA, and found it very portable and practical for IOTA. Team also plan on having a dedicated 6m station; October will not be ideal for 6m but with FT8 they hope to exploit any E-skip openings.
