Classes:Single Operator - separate power levels: High, Low, QRP. By mode: Phone only, CW only, Mixed (Phone and CW). One person performs all radio operation and logging activities. Use of spotting nets, packet radio, and/or multichannel decoders (such as CW skimmers) is not permitted. Single Operator stations using spotting nets, packet radio, and/or multichannel decoders will be reclassified to the appropriate Single Operator Unlimited category. Single Operator stations are permitted only one transmitted signal at any given time. Single Operator Unlimited - separate power levels: High, Low, QRP. By mode: Phone only, CW only, Mixed (Phone and CW). One person performs all radio operation and logging activities. The use of alerting nets, packet radio and multichannel decoders is permitted. Single operator stations are permitted only one transmitted signal at any time. Multi Operator, Single Transmitter, Mixed Mode Only, High Power No band or mode change shall be permitted until 10 minutes have passed since the start of operation on that band and mode. There are no exceptions to this rule (the "10 minute period" begins when the contact is logged). Only one transmitted signal is permitted at any time. There are no exceptions to this rule. Alternating CQ on two (or more) frequencies on the same band is prohibited. Violating the band change rules will result in the station being reclassified to the checklog. Multi Operator, Two Transmitter, Mixed Mode Only, Low Power Two transmitted signals are permitted at any time, but on different bands. The use of spotting nets, packet radio and/or multi-channel decoders (such as CW skimmers) is not permitted. Each contact must be logged with the specific transmitter identification. HQ Station - the headquarters of an IARU Member Society HQ Station. Only one signal is permitted on each band and mode at any one time. All participants involved in one HQ Station must be located in one and only ITU zone. Only one HQ callsign is permitted on each band and mode. The power output (PEP) may be further limited by the license holder's conditions: QRP no more than 5 watts, Low no more than 100 watts, High no more than 1500 watts. All operators must comply with the amateur radio regulations of their respective countries.
Exchange:HQ stations report RS(T) and the official abbreviation of their national amateur radio organization - member of IARU. The club station of the International Secretariat of IARU (call sign NU1AW) is considered an HQ station and transmits IARU. Members of the IARU Administrative Council and three regional IARU Executive Committees transmit as an abbreviation AC, R1, R2, R3 respectively. All others transmit RS(T) and the number of their ITU zone. The report must indicate the full exchange numbers for each QSO.
