David F4FKT has successfully passed the medical examination to again return to Antarctica and should be QRV from November 2025 to February 2026 as follows:

FT4YM/P – Base Concordia AN-016. Mainly QRV from there.

FT4YM/P – Little Dome C AN-016. In theory, there are several days of work to do over there.

FT4YM – Base Dumont d’Urville AN-017. A 7-10 days stay is scheduled at the end of the summer Antarctic campaign but this may change.

FT4YM – Lion island Depot AN-017. An all time new one which is situated just beside Dumont d’Urville-Petrels island, that’s the main ham radio target this time.

VK0/FT4YM/P – North Patch AN-016. A tiny chance to be QRV for a few hours from this Australian camp that is located about 8km from Concordia.

FT4YM/Mobile – IPEV-PNRA Logistics Convoy AN-016. During the 3 to 4 days stopover of the 2025-26 Raid#1 & Raid#2 at Concordia.

FT4YM/ Maritime Mobile – Possibly QRV aboard "L’Astrolabe P-800” on the way back to Tasmania but permission from the French Navy operating the icebreaker must first be obtained and we are not sure to get it.

New photos have been added tom FT4YM webpages. Meanwhile, almost 900 QSOs in SSB FT8 and FT4, and several contacts with my neighbors in Antarctica, including Alex RI1ANV from Vostock. The season is advancing .. the end of the year is coming..

Today, DX-World received some pictures giving more insight into David’s work at Concordia Base, as well as his operating place. 









  • [NOVEMBER 2] – 

Today, at Concordia station, David FT4YM with the help of others set up and tested a small vertical antenna on the roof of the research station. Keep an eye on DX clusters as to when he might QRV. 

  • [JULY 19] –

David, F4FKT will again be active as FT4YM from two (or more) Antarctic bases during early November 2024 to early March 2025. Dates of activity from each base to be confirmed nearer the time.  QRV on HF bands when time allows outside of his working environment. QSL via F5PFP. Website
