CQ WPX CW Contest

held from 05/25/2024 00:00 UTC to 05/26/2024 24:00 UTC
Modulation: CW
Range: 160, 80, 40, 20, 15, 10 m
Classes: CATEGORIES OF PARTICIPANTS: The use of assistance in searching for possible QSOs is permitted in all categories with the exception of the Superimposed category "Classic One Operator". A. Categories with a single operator (Single Operator): All actions for making connections and recording them in the report are performed by one person (operator). There are no restrictions on the number of transitions from range to range. Only one transmitted signal is allowed at any time. 1. Single Operator - High Power All Bands or Single Band: The total transmitted power must not exceed 1500 Watts. 2. Single Operator - Low Power All Bands or Single Band: The total power transmitted must not exceed 100 Watts. 3. Single Operator - QRP All Bands or Single Band: The total transmitted power must not exceed 5 Watts. B. Single Operator Overlay Categories: Any eligible Single Operator participant may ALSO submit a report for credit in one of the following categories by adding CABRILLO format to the header of the report file. an additional line called CATEGORY-OVERLAY. In the competition results, all results obtained in the overlay categories will be listed separately, counted as "All Bands" and grouped as "High Power" and "Low Power" (which includes QRP. 1. Tribander/Single Element), ( TB-WIRES): During the competition, the competitor must use only one (1) tri-band antenna (tribander) of any type, equipped with a single power line from the transmitter to the antenna, for bands 10, 15 and 20 m, and single-element antennas for bands 40, 80 and 160 m. Individual receiving antennas are not permitted in this category. 2. ROOKIE: To participate in this subgroup, the operator must have been a licensed amateur radio operator for three (3) years as of the date of competition. the first license must be indicated in the SOAPBOX field of the report. An operator who received a plaque based on previously published results of any CQ contest cannot be entered in the Rookie subgroup. 3. Classic Operator (CLASSIC): The participant will use only one transceiver and can work up to 24 out of 48 hours - breaks must be at least 60 minutes, during which QSOs will not be recorded in the report. If the report shows work in excess of 24 hours, only the first 24 hours will count toward credit for that imposed category. The use of any kind of assistance in searching for possible QSOs is prohibited (see Rule IX.B) during the competition. Reception during transmission is also prohibited. 4. Youth (YOUTH):The operator was 25 years of age or less at the start of the competition. Enter your date of birth in the SOAPBOX field. C. Multi-Operator Categories (All Ranges only): More than one person may contribute to the final result during the official competition time. Select a category based on the number of signals transmitted or locations. 1. One transmitter (MULTI-ONE): Only one transmitted signal is allowed at any time. A maximum of 10 (ten) transitions from range to range are allowed during the astronomical hour (from 00 to 59 minutes). For example, moving from 20 m to 40 m and then returning to 20 m counts as two changes from band to band. Use the same sequential numbering of connections throughout the entire report. a. High Power: The total output power of each transmitted signal must not exceed 1500 Watts. b. Low Power: The total output power of each transmitted signal must not exceed 100 watts. 2. Two transmitters (MULTI-TWO): No more than two transmitted signals are allowed at any time on two different bands. Both transmitters can work with any station. The same station can only be operated once on each band, regardless of which transmitter is used. The report must indicate which transmitter made each QSO (column 81 of the CABRILLO QSO template for CQ contests). Each transmitter can make a maximum of 8 (eight) band changes during any astronomical hour (from 00 to 59 minutes). Use continuous numbering of connections on each range separately. The total output power of each transmitted signal must not exceed 1500 watts. 3. Many transmitters (MULTI-UNLIMITED): A maximum of six transmitted signals, one for each band at any time. Six ranges can be activated simultaneously. Use separate continuous numbering of links for each range separately. The total output power of each transmitted signal must not exceed 1500 watts. 4. MULTI-DISTRIBUTED: A maximum of six transmitted signals, one for each band at any time, from stations in different locations. All equipment (transmitters, receivers, amplifiers, antennas, etc.) must be located in the same DXCC area and the same WAZ area, including remotely controlled equipment. Six ranges can be activated simultaneously. Use separate continuous numbering for each range. The total output power of each transmitter must not exceed 1500 W. The Cabrillo format report must contain the following lines: CATEGORY-OPERATOR: MULTI-OP, CATEGORY-STATION: DISTRIBUTED. Rules XE and XF do not apply to this category. D. Checklog: Report, intended only to provide data for verification of other submitted reports. The final result will not be published in the competition results, and the contents of the report will not be published.
Exchange: Signal rating on the RST scale plus the serial number of the connection starting with 001 for the first connection. Note: members of the Multi-Two, Multi-Unlimited and Multi-Distributed subgroups use separate numbering of links on each band.
