The RF-Man site provides a list showing the year in which each UK amateur radio prefix was first issued as well as a history of CB radio
Up until April 1, 2000, amateur callsigns were issued sequentially which meant you could tell when someone was issued with their licence. After that date callsigns could be selected from any available call within the current class block.
After 2017 it became possible to request a callsign from any of the previously issued call blocks. This meant someone passing their Full exam could apply for a callsign from among others the G2, G3, G4, G5, M5 prefix call blocks.

From 18 to 26 September 2021, Belgium will be hosting the 100th anniversary of the UCI World Cycling Championships
The 94th edition of the 2021 UCI World Cycling Championships will be held between 18 and 26 September 2021 in Belgium. The region was chosen on the occasion of the 100th anniversary of the World Cycling Championships. The UCI chose a return to one of the founding members.

Operators Helmut DF7EE and Elmar PD3EM will once again be active as CT9/DF7EE and CS9/PD3EM, respectively, from Madeira Island (AF-014) between October 25th and November 2nd.
Both operators have been on this island before (17th trip for Helmut).
Activity will be on various HF bands, including 60m, and an entry in the CQWW DX SSB Contest (October 30-31st) using the callsign CQ3W (possibly CR3A).

Gerard, F5NVF, will be active as C5C from Kololi, The Gambia, between October 24th and November 19th (maybe more if he can stay there longer).
Activity will be on 60-10 meters using CW and SSB, with an IC-7000 w/100 watts.
He will be joined later by Luc/F5RAV and Abdel/M0NPT to be active on all bands with an IC-705 and Expert 1.3 amp using CW, SSB, FT8 and the QO-100 satellite if possible (between October 28th and November 8th).

Starting on October 1, Amateur Radio on the International Space Station (ARISS) will accept applications from US schools, museums, science centers, and community youth organizations — individually or working together — interested in hosting amateur radio contacts with crew members on the International Space Station (ISS). Contacts will be scheduled between July 1 and December 31, 2022. Crew scheduling and ISS orbits will determine the exact contact dates.

The El Dorado County Amateur Radio Club (EDCARC) has been providing radio communication support for small and large-animal rescue efforts during the Caldor Fire. Members of the South County Large Animal Rescue (SCLAR) group, El Dorado County Animal Services, and other volunteers have been addressing the need. Many of the EDCARC volunteers are also members of the Club’s Neighborhood Radio Watch program.
