It recently occurred to me, especially in these days of FT8 and FT4, that no group or individual has yet beaten the T32C QSO record of 213,000 QSOs set in 2011.
A few have come very close – and remembering the T32C DXpedition did indeed last a month overall – but with the advent of FTx and how quickly QSOs can be made (including SuperFox mode) 213K QSOs still remains the target to beat for any future DXpedition.
Who will do it?
— The Rebel DX Group work anyone, anywhere and don’t care about dupes is definitely a contender. They were also active for approx three months from T30TTT recently on various modes and almost made the 200K QSOs mark with only 2 ops.
— The Russian DX Team regularly pumps out +100K QSOs during their DXpeditions. They will be QRV from Burundi for 20 full days straight soon.
— F6KOP and MDXC Teams put on a good show everywhere they go and one wonders, if say, they decided to stay at a particular location for over 3 weeks could +200K QSOs be achieved by either of them?
— The Czech DX Team also produces high QSO numbers although they tend to keep Digi, CW and SSB totals to a similar amount overall, as do F6KOP and MDXC.
— Will Bouvet 3Y0K smash the record in February next year. It remains to be seen.
There are of course many others, including solo ops who might QRV from some place for a month and run FTx 24/7, but to emphasize, the T32C QSO total of 213K has not been broken by any major DXpedition.
Note: Very many DXpeditions are more interested in making unique QSOs or working particular areas of the world that are difficult to make contact with (quality over quantity perhaps) but nonetheless 213K remains a viable target nowadays. A large team focused on beating this total is surely not far away.
Good luck to those thinking of trying to make this achievement!
