[NEWS UPDATE] –
The PJ6Y team has just surpassed 20,000 QSOs, marking a major milestone in their on-air operations. The young amateur radio operators are taking full advantage of excellent propagation conditions, sharpening their operating skills, and connecting with stations worldwide.
Operating around the clock, the team currently has three local and two remote stations active on the air. The on-island contingent of 14 operators is joined by approximately 30 young remote operators from around the globe — a truly international collaboration showcasing the next generation of DXers.
"We have a bit of antenna work to complete today in advance of our participation in CQWW SSB,” shared Gregg, W6IZT. "The weather has been somewhat of a challenge, with frequent showers and lightning. With heavier rains forecast from Thursday through our departure, we’re accelerating our contest preparations.”
Despite the challenging conditions, spirits remain high.
"What an amazing and awesome group of future DXpedition leaders!” said Glenn, W0GJ.
The team extends a huge thank you to sponsors, supporters, and off-island Elmers, whose encouragement and contributions have made this adventure possible.

"Packed and ready to go!”, says Greg W6IZT. The team will arrive on Saba late in the afternoon of October 15th. We will begin to set up early on the morning of the 16th. The two RiBs will be online first and the remote ops will begin making QSOs while the on-island team assembles stations and antennas at our two operating locations (see below). We will upload QSOs in real-time and will utilize Club Log leaderboard.
[SEPTEMBER 20] –
We are close to reaching our fundraising goals – we need your help! LoTW: Donors of $10+ (before Oct 15) will receive early LoTW confirmation.
Two weeks from today, on October 15, a multi-national team of nine young operators, ages 16–28, from five different countries, will begin their adventure to Saba Island. The team will first assemble in Sint Maarten before making the short and exciting flight to Saba!

- Stations and Operating Locations
We are fortunate to have secured two world-class operating locations on Saba:
— Upper Hells Gate (1200 ft ASL)
Stations: 2 × Elecraft K3 + KPA500, 1 × NexGenRiB2
Antennas: Tri-bander, 20–6m HexBeam, vertical for 40m & 30m
— The Level (1640 ft ASL)
Stations: 1 × Elecraft K3 + KPA500, 1 × NexGenRiB2
Antennas: 6-band DX Commander vertical, inverted-L for 160/80/60m, RX antennas, 4-element 6m Yagi.
Setup begins in the morning of October 16. Our priority will be to deploy the NexGenRiB2 systems, which should be on the air by 1200Z. Our multi-national team of remote operators will start logging QSOs while the on-island team completes assembly of the three locally operated stations.

We will use SuperFox in the early days as long as demand remains high, then transition to Fox/Hound and standard FT8/FT4 modes as demand decreases. There will be no unattended operation.
