• [REMINDER] –

An international team of radio amateurs from Angola, Portugal, Spain is carrying out a special amateur radio operation under the callsign D2A, from October 18 to 26, to commemorate the 50th anniversary of Angola’s Independence and to promote the country’s cultural and natural richness to the world through radio communications.

The initiative, taking place on the iconic Mussulo Island, aims to serve as a bridge between peoples and cultures, connecting Angola with thousands of radio amateurs across all continents. Through the airwaves, Angolan and international voices come together to share a message of peace, unity, and progress.

With local logistical support and collaboration between operators, the D2A operation is equipped with high-level communication infrastructure, enabling 24/7 global radio contact throughout the duration of the event.

Driven by a strong spirit of cooperation, this multicultural and multidisciplinary team joins forces to bring Angola to the world—and the world to Angola—using the magic of radio as a means of connection.

Beyond its patriotic symbolism, this amateur radio activation highlights Angola’s role within the global amateur radio community, promoting the country as a vibrant destination rich in history, nature, and hospitality.

D2A is more than just a callsign – it is a symbol of international cooperation, passion for communication, and Angolan pride at a time when the nation celebrates half a century of sovereignty and nation-building.
